The Lincolnshire Ladies County Golf Association welcomed guest speaker Alison Nicholas MBE at its recent county lunch held at the English Golf Union centre in Woodhall Spa.

Alison’s playing career spanned from 1980 to 2004. She won the Ladies British Open in 1987 and the US Open in 1997, the same year she was awarded her MBE from the Queen for services to ladies golf.

Alison played in the Solheim Cup six times and captained the team 2009-11. In 2011 she led Europe to a memorable victory over the Americans in Ireland.

More than 150 ladies attended and everyone enjoyed a good lunch and an interesting talk from Alison about her playing career and her experience captaining the Solheim Cup team.
