She commenced with giving an insight into 'Life on the Tour' including the highs and lows of life on the road and being in a different Country or State (when on the US Tour) each week.

This soon led on to her role as Solheim Cup Captain for years 2009 and 2011 and what the role entailed. Forward planning was the order of the day and she went into detail on the varying aspects of being Team Captain, including asking advice from the many previous Solheim Cup Captains together with the men who had held the honour of Captaining the Ryder Cup.

One of the major subjects discussed was that of motivating her teams and what insight she showed - no wonder the team won in Ireland in 2011.

Many questions and answers followed the talk and I am sure we all departed from Copt Heath feeling much more able to motivate ourselves and other team members when applicable, when we approach our future games of golf!!

Everyone agreed that the night had been a great success - wonderful company, excellent food and the guest speaker just 'Captain Fantastic'. In addition the raffle raised a magnificent sum of ? 500.00 plus, which will go towards Teams and Junior training.

Pictured is Alison just about reaching the top of the lecturn, due to having to sit on a stool, as she had broken her ankle!!!
